Alfasud Sprint 

In 1976 Alfa Romeo was in search and capture of manufacturing a new sports car. And the choice was the Alfasud Sprint, a 3-door coupe presented at the Turin Motor Show in November of the same year.

Design

It was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro as a new version of the original Alfa Romeo Alfsasud. The variants were mostly exterior and motor, since the body and the “backbone” of the car was almost the same.

It was mounted with a 4-cylinder, 1186 cc engine that was capable of running at 6,000 revolutions per minute. The appearance was very aggressive and aerodynamic, in addition to having a dark and very glamorous brown interior.

In 1983, after several remodeling of the Alfasud Sprint, the brand decided to remodel the entire car. The Sprint received an impressive face wash inside and out: new suspension, new brakes, new engine and more refined design.

The car continued to receive updates, especially aesthetic and engine, from 1983 to 1987. In that year the last update was made with the Sprint 1.7 Quadrifoglio Verde version, which was able to go from 0 to 100 km / h in just 9.3 seconds.

In 1987 they stopped producing after selling almost 117,000 vehicles in their long life. It was one of the best-selling sports coupons of its time, reliable and common among the youngest.

Alfa Romeo GT 

In 2003 Alfa Romeo decided to “revive” the Sprint by creating a new model inspired by him called Alfa Romeo GT. It was sold from that year until 2003 and had great acceptance for being a vehicle with a sporty design but elegant at the same time.

It was a car capable of being driven, without prejudice, by a person of 22 years and one of 50. This aesthetic versatility, coupled with a great engine and reliability, have made it one of the greatest successes in terms of range cars Alfa Romeo mid-high in recent years.
